Lake Swim

Happy Friday!!! So pumped about a long holiday weekend. A close friend of mine from college is coming in town tonight, and I will be at home with the fam for the rest of the weekend. There will be lots of relaxing and poolside lounging : ). I'll surely be wearing my new Dar Be Dar bikinis, which I am obsessed with. I'm thrilled to be collaborating with the designer of this swimwear line, Tala Raassi, who you will get to meet in an upcoming post. Tala, who has been named one of Newsweek's Most Fearless Women in the World, is an inspiration and a picture of strength. Stay tuned for my interview and more posts featuring her gorgeous and affordable swimsuits. Shop Tala's gorge Resort and Spring designs here

It's tough to choose a favorite suit from this post, but I'm leaning toward the tan bikini, which is the Euphoria style. I love the braided detail on the sides of the bottoms. Super flattering cut. I discovered during this shoot, with my talented friend, lifestyle photographer, Kenwyn Alexander, that these swimsuits are amazing for an active lifestyle. Everything stayed in place while running and splashing through the water at Oak Mountain State Park. I can't wait to visit again - so beautiful.

I absolutely love these photos : ) Definitely some of my all time favorites. Again, I feel like these are very 'Mary'. Bravo, Kenwyn - these are dynamite.

More Dar Be Dar love to come!

xx

Leather and Olive

I am so excited about fall! The cooler air this morning hints at a new season, and I can't wait. I love September and October weather in Alabama and am looking forward to fall clothes. My photographer friend Kenwyn Alexander shot these gorgeous photos in Oak Mountain. For those of you who have never met me in person, these are very 'Mary'. I feel like my personality comes through a lot, which I absolutely love. :)

Right now, I'm drawn to touches of leather and olive colored everything. When I spotted these Saratoga heels by Coach, I had to invest. Love them! This style is also available in a warmer and cooler shade of tan, but the olive is on point for this fall. Ditto for makeup. I also did a smokey olive eye for these photos, using Estee Lauder Pure Color eye shadow.

The leather bracelets and cuffs I'm wearing are from my designing friend Rachell Khoo's Chivalry Menswear line. I love incorporating touches of masculinity to keep my overall look from being to sweet. For my first outfit, I'm wearing the Combatant and the Seafarer styles. For my second look, I'm wearing the Crown of Thorns and the Gladiator style. I wear the Crown of Thorns style almost everyday - it's just $7. : ) I currently have my eye on the Colonial Flip sunglasses (in both black and tortouise!) and the Scout Watch. Obsessed. Def check out Rachell's affordable line.

Another piece I adore that I'm wearing here is this cream Marc By Marc Jacobs sweater, which is deliciously cozy. The fabric feels amazing. The Lucinda sweateralso by Marc by Marc Jacobs, is a comparable style.

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

Florence

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the family in my hometown, Florence. It was an amazing weekend that involved playing with my dog son, Shon, whipping up body scrubs with my mom, and getting spoiled with my dad's killer pancakes. Lots of good food, actually. Here, I am off to dinner in downtown Florence, and I had a super awesome photographer with me: mom. I enlisted her as photographer on the way, and she kindly obliged and snapped this look for me. : )

I love contrasts, and for summer, bright pops of color. This outfit started with these adorable chain bracelets by Chains By Lauren. It was surprisingly easy to get dressed after settling on the jewelry... may have to do this more often : ). Here, I'm wearing the Goa and Bahia styles. Totally in love with Lauren's designs - she has a fab selection of beach jewelry. (Obsessed with this colorful one!). I love these bracelets paired with this Elizabeth and James pencil skirt. Keeps it from looking too serious. So do the shiny blue sunglasses, which are by LeSpecs

Check out Lauren's Instagram page and her site for more adorable beachy jewelry. Happy Tuesday!

Color Drenched

It was a gray and dreary day, and I needed a mood lifter. Enter, neon pink. Next, shiny fuschia shades and a bit of bright new beach jewelry. Immediately sunnier outlook : ) The sun even started peeking through the clouds while these photos were snapped. These adorable bracelets I'm wearing here are Chains By Lauren. I have stacked the Bahia and the Goa styles together for a chunkier look. I love, love, love them. Here, I kept the look casual with jeans for low key drinks and dinner. They're easy to wear - I paired them with a pencil skirt the next day. Stay tuned for those pics. : )

Bring your own sunshine : )

Petal Perusing

After our ice cream shop excursion, Ali Thurwachter and I wandered over to an adorable little flowershop in the village. I had to share a few of her beautiful shots. You can see my new Shelby cat eyes from Triple Graces a little closer up in these photos. I had never owned cat eye sunglasses before this pair, and I'm officially obsessed with the style now. Retro is so fun. ; )

Retro Powder Pink

Pale pink lipstick and cat eye shades were my inspiration for the retro chic styling in this post. This pink shade of lipstick is so powdery and dreamy. It's Yves Saint Laurent's Lingerie Pink, which I first blogged about here. Cool pink lips are a heavenly match with my new Shelby Cat Eyes style sunnies from Triple Graces. So in love with them! My best accessory though, was my good friend Jenna's bulldog, Gamble. This little guy rocked it! My friend Ali Thurwachter shot these lovely photos and was game when I told her the shoot would involve an ice cream shop and a bulldog, ha. Love the result!

Blonde & Bling

New jewelry and new hair color. Plenty of reason to smile this week. : ) My photographer friend Mary Catherine Fehr snapped these photos right after my color transformation. Lots of blonde. New hair color really is so fun : ) It seems to always mark positive turning points in my life... so cheers to good things ahead! Here, I'm showing off my new ombre with some lovely pieces of Chloe and Isabel jewelry from the Moroccan Summer collection that we recently received from Anna Lisa Ciaccio. We're pumped about incorporating some longer chain styles into our wardrobe since we mostly have shorter chain necklaces. Of all the pretty pieces in this post, the bangle set I'm wearing in these first few shots are what I seem to wear the most. They go with everything. Love! Also really like the slightly Moroccan vibe of the bracelet and necklace I'm wearing in my second look below.
