|Lindsey's mascara: Diorshow Waterproof Mascara|
We've all seen it. Pesky remnants of eyeliner stamped across the eyelids. Black dots and lines streaked underneath the eyes. Most of us are busy ladies, and dealing with eyemakeup smudges is something we just don't have time for.
We recently got a question from a reader about how to prevent smudging, and we thought it would be a great topic to address. Smudges can be prevented! In this post, I'm going to share my typical eye makeup routine with you, step-by-step, which should help you avoid smudges.
RECOMMENDED FOR LIDS:
Eyeshadow: Lancome, TwoFaced, Chanel, & Estee Lauder.
Layer your liner. Make sure to use a quality pencil eyeliner. Again, go for a pigmented formula. If it's not very pigmented, it will be annoying to use and you will not easily achieve a nice, dark line. This next step is optional: I always follow with a layer of liquid liner right on top. I never have smudging issues when I use it. I've found that it locks down my eyeliner nicely. I love it! If you don't have a lot of experience using liquid liner, it may take some practice. A rookie mistake is not letting it dry thoroughly after it has been applied. Try to keep your eyes as close to being shut as possible until dry. Be patient if you're learning : ). I suggest opting for a longwear or waterproof formula.
Pencil: Chanel, Estee Lauder, & MAC
Liquid: Lancôme, & Maybelline's waterproof formula

Opt for waterproof mascara. Waterproof is probably the way to go if you have issues with mascara smudging. Since waterproof formulas can be more difficult to remove, be sure to use a good eyemakeup remover (and wipe away gently so you don't rub lashes off!).
