|Lindsey's Dress: Elizabeth and James|
We were feeling inspired by the spotted nails seen on the runway at Kate Spade's Fall show (see here). It caught our attention because, often times, polka dots on nails can look cheesy. We thought the peach dots of polish on the models' black nails looked more mature because their nail shapes were a longer, more rounded feminine shape. On Lindsey's nails, we first slicked them with Essie Nail Polish in Licorice, ($8) - this is a great black. Instead of dotting them with peach polish, as was done at Kate Spade, we used a matte white, Pure Ice in Super Star!. We like it because it's not at all sheer, so it really pops against the black. It looks better with dots of different sizes, like we did. Just be sure if you are going to try this on your nails to not wear anything to cutesy. We think this sexy purple Elizabeth and James dress makes a good contrast.
