Our Summer Face Routine

Mary's Face: L'Oreal True Match Naturale Mineral Powder / Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream / Lips: YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in Lingerie Pink / Top: Patterson J. Kincaid
Thanks to so many of your requests and inquiries, this post is all about our summer face routine! Each season, we like to change it up a bit. In the summer, we like to keep things a bit lighter than other times of year. We always begin with clean, moisturized skin. We first start by applying a good concealer. Right now we're loving Conceal FX Camouflage Concealer in Light, ($27). This is such a great concealer - it is full coverage but not cakey and thick looking at all. It's a fabulous choice for summer. All you need is a tiny dab. Pat - don't rub - it on. Next we squirt about a quarter size dollop of Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream, ($13) onto our fingers and blend it over our face and neck. As we've mentioned before in a post we did about this BB cream, it doesn't look at all makeup-y on the face. It blends in very easily, leaving you looking natural, just slightly better. We've used this all summer and love it. This is a great alternative to foundation in hotter months since it's lighter... and how amazing is the price?? Finally, we apply L'Oreal True Match Naturale Mineral Makeup Spf 19, which is about $16 at This is a year-round staple for us. There is never a day we don't have this in our makeup bags. Never a day when we don't use it. We first sweep on a small amount and then sweep on a bit more if we need it. We highly recommend keeping several shades in your makeup bag - especially in the summer since some days you might have more of a tan than others. Wearing a shade that matches your skin identically is crucial. Again, this is why it's a good idea to keep several different shades on hand at all times (we usually turn to Light Ivory, Natural Buff or Natural Beige). This is key to a flawless finish, as pictured above.
