Dark Tipped French Manicure

Lindsey's Blouse: Alice + Olivia / Mascara: Dior Diorshow Waterproof Mascara / Lancome Artliner Precision Point Liquid Liner
Right now, we're loving the latest update on the French manicure: dark tips. With a shiny, natural colored base, this style is an easy way to modernize your look. We first fell for the skinny version of this manicure seen at the Fall 2012 Thakoon show. (Scroll all the way down to see the runway version).

For the look above, we used three colors instead of just two. First, Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Ballerina ($26) was used as the base. We applied two coats of it and then let them dry completely. Next, we painted on thin stripes Essie Nail Lacquer in Licorice ($8) on the tips of the nails. Finally, we applied another layer of thin strips of Ulta Nail Lacquer in Fine Pruned ($6). We topped it off with a slick of clear polish. This manicure requires a little patience, but it's worth it in the end. It looks so clean and modern!
