Chanel Inspired Chrome & Pink Manicure

Leather Chair: Antique from England
Earlier in July we showed y'all our favorite backstage beauty moments from Chanel's Fall 2012 Couture runway show - click here to see that post. And as promise I tried the overlapping pink-on-chrome effect on my nails. This look was much simpler to achieve than I thought it would be. I started with a couple of silver base coats covering the entire nail using OPI's Birthday Babe, $7. Next, I went over that with a soft pink polish, Pistol Packin' Pink ($7) also by OPI, leaving just a sliver of the chrome visible around the inner rims of my nails. This look is best for longer fingernails and helps create a slenderizing and lengthening effect. I love how it looks - this is a more subtle way to jump on board the nail trims this summer. Happy painting!!
